Cut food loss and Waste and Grow Profit

Presented by Dr Abdel Samie Felfel, Program Manager, Economics, Qatar National Research Fund

With the equivalent of 30 to 40 percent of food lost along the value chain, with much of it finding its way to landfill, significant opportunities exist for businesses along food value chains to streamline their operations, reduce food losses and waste (FLW), and increase profit, while making better use of scarce resources, managing risk, and reducing their environmental footprint. The presentation shows Canadian case studies that illustrates how food value chain partners could cut FLW and increase their profits through better analysis of their business' processes and better collaboration throughout the food value chain.
